Watercolour Art Course with John Hoar
Dates: Tues 17th, Weds 18th, Thurs 19th May 2016
We are very excited to have John Hoar back here for another of his very successful water colour courses.
John Hoar is one of the most exciting watercolourists working in Britain and Ireland today. His inspirations have been the great impressionist watercolourists who perfected the art of painting in the most direct and economical way.
His paintings are widely sought after and he specialises in architectural subjects as well as landscapes, marine scenes and floral studies. He was born in 1947, the son of Frank Hoar the cartoonist – “Acanthus” of Punch magazine and a highly accomplished watercolourist. John read Architecture at Cambridge and Brixton School of Building and, although he studied drawing and painting with Ruskin Spear R.A., he is largely self taught. He has painted professionally since 1980 and is represented in collections in England, Ireland and the USA.
John won first prize for watercolour in 1988, the Donald Blake prize in 2003 and the Lincoln Joyce prize, at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, in the same year. He is part author of ‘Watercolour Plus’, published by David and Charles in 2003 and in 2008 he issued a DVD called ‘Simplifying Watercolours’.
Price of the course is €350.00 for non residential including Lunches, teas coffees etc, and €550 for residential inc two nights accommodation and dinners.
